Body Harmony™

What is Body Harmony™?

Body Harmony™ is a ‘hands on’ method of bodywork based on the body’s natural inclination and ability to heal itself. Body Harmony™ sees the client, not the practitioner, as the true source of healing.

Body Harmony™ uses touch to listen to the body, to contact areas of restrictions and compression, creating an opportunity for release and completion. Our bodies are living libraries of past experiences that shape the way we move, think, feel and act.

The quality of touch (a primary goal of practitioner education and qualification) allows the client new possibilities of thought, feeling, movement and action.

Body Harmony™ was developed by American Chiropractor, Dr Don McFarland who synthesised the method of conscious touch from the unique qualities of over 60 different forms of bodywork and healing modalities. Don undertook extensive studies with acknowledged leaders, such as, Ida Rolf, Moshe Felenkrais, Marion Rosen, John Upledger and Leroy Perry Jr.

Although only founded in 1985, Body Harmony™ is now taught and practiced in over 15 different countries.
